TX evaluation

So I had my initial tx evaluation this afternoon with the wonderful team up at Columbia Pres. I'm scared sh-tless and exhausted right now, but otherwise feeling pretty good about the whole thing. My entire fam was in from colorado and we all LOVED the dr, which is so important. And we got all our questions answered.

So now we wait. They're not going to put me active right away. Dr. thinks we can hoepfully get another few years out of my lungs, which is fantastic. But still, I'm nervous about just getting the call for the rest of the testing!

Glad to hear your family came in & liked the doctor. My doctor at St. Vincents said if/when the time comes that I want to tx they would refer me to Columbia also.......

Good to know someone else is going through it there first THANKS

you got over the first hurdle.....yeahh!! Just some fun no-brainer advice for any eval. stuff. An Ipod is a good thing....it will take your mind off of things and help the time pass. A good book also helps. Have something to do while you are in the waiting room for any tests Also, give yourself some mini rewards through the day or at the end of the day. For me it was a nice dinner out complete with ice cream. For you it may be something different, but you'll deserve a little reward. When you are done, you will feel good that you have done all of the things necessary and you can put it out of your mind for a while. There are too many people who wait until it is too late to get evaluated. Better years too early than even 1 day late! If you have any questions about any of the testing, PM one of us who has been through it.

Hugs,
Karen

Piper...glad you posted this. My wife and I were just talking yesterday about my "nerves" with regards to begining my transplant evaluation. I have seen a lot of posts on here about transplants but couldn't remember anyone ever posting they were scared, which I am. The very thought of returning their calls makes we nervous. Anyway, I hope you stay off the list for as long as possible and wish you luck when you go on it.
