Ugh, another head cold

I'm blaming my germy MIL, who hadn't seen DS for several weeks and invited us over for dinner last week and told me once we got there that she had a little cough, but only at night and she thought it was her sinuses draining. She coughed the entire time we were there and I could hear that it was a productive, throaty cough. Grr!

DH thought I was overreacting and besides -- "next year he'll be going to school"... I realize that, but I get so darn tired of being told "it's just a cold" for fear we won't show up to a family event where she can show off the grandson.

Xmas Eve & Day we rode in the same car, though she made a point NOT to sit next to DS 'cuz of her cough. Hello? I didn't want to sit next to her either and I made a smart remark that if she's sick, we'll all be exposed to her germs. She sorta pouted and said something about driving herself, but didn't. Oh, and was "lovely" seeing her cough in her hand and then pass someone a bun at the table and sit with a baby in her lap and drool all over it. Methinks she's totally insane -- senile....

So Friday night I'm awakened by a bit of a dry cough and get ds a drink, Sunday the nose runs like a geyer and I've been on pins and needles ever since trying to determine what kind of cough (if any) he has because if he IS sick, his doctor doesn't work tomorrow, then the holiday... and the local doctors are pretty worthless. Grrr! Nose stopped running, didn't sound like a productive cough last night. Most likely dry air and sinus drainage. Wasn't breathing fast...No fever...

Now I have a lovely headcold/sinus infection and I'm cranky. Spent the last few early mornings listing for DS and worrying and cursing my MIL. Which in all actuality DS could've picked up his cold from our trip to the City last weekend, trip to the mall to see Santa, preschool...

End of vent. Thank goodness the inlaws went to visit some friends for New Years, so I have a brief reprieve from them.

I hear you. I hate those "it's nothing" that other people bring around Josh. And when he's sick my family runs the other way so they won't catch it.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0">

Oh yuck! I'd say enjoy your reprieve, but it's a bit tough to enjoy anything when you feel so crappy. I hope you all feel better soon.
