Just wanted to say I hope your little guy feels better soon. It is hard when you don't feel good and your child doesn't feel good either.

Thanks SJ, it was a good article, empowering kids is the most important thing parents can do, however it doesn't hurt to be proactive either. While you can't keep them in a bubble, you can keep them out of close contact with an actively sick relative.

Liza, your description was funny~yuck

DS seems to be doing fine. It's really cold today and dry, so imagine the cough I heard was probably that. We've been doing sinus rinses and it's back to the usual thick stuff and he plays in the tub for at least an hour every night. Yesterday at preschool they were out playing in the snow for most of the morning. Firm believer in fresh air and he seems to love the cold and snow.

He could've picked up his germs anywhere -- darned nose picking -- bleah! Before Xmas we were at the clinic, Mall and science museum -- then there's daycare, the trip to see santa and waiting in line -- despite hand sanitizer I can't catch that darned nose to mouth contact all the time <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> So he could've picked up this bug anywhere.

I just resent my MIL's attitude -- always more concerned about appearances and if she pretends she or others aren't sick, then she thinks it makes it so. Being a retired nurse/nursing instructor she should know better... We just shouldn't always have to ask if a certain relative is going to be there, if they're infection free and the "fibbing" about it's just a cold is really getting old.
