Ugh - sick

There is nothing worse than being sick while pregnant. Yesterday I came down w/ something that made me weak, nauseated, and made me throw up a few times. I HATE throwing up - it is sort of a phobia. I was pretty much incapacitated. I had to have Josh come home a little after noon because there was no way I could take care of Logan from the couch. All I managed to eat yesterday was a very small piece of chicken (that took me about an hour to eat) and a smoothie that I sipped on for about 2 hours. I did keep a cup of water next to me that I took sips from because I didn't want to become dehydrated.

My heart also started to act up because I'm pretty sure I'm deficient in magnesium right now. I have very clear signs of magnesium deficiency include episodes of tachycardia. I got very light headed in the shower yesterday and today and realized my heart rate was pretty high (which in turn lowers my already low blood pressure). Any kind of exertion makes me weak and light headed and shoots up my heart rate (I was sitting down earlier and using my little pulse ox and my heart rate was 120 - I coughed a little bit and it went to 130 and stayed there for a while). Sitting here right now my pulse is 110.

I feel better today although still quite weak. I managed to eat a decent sized lunch. Josh stayed home again today.

And then I worry about the pregnancy - that its harming the baby. But I felt her moving a lot yesterday and today so I'm sure she's fine Nobody else got sick so I don't think it was food poising (us and all the ILs had dinner on Sunday).

Oh well - I'm on the mend. Still sucks though.

Sorry you're sick At least you're feeling better now. Don't worry about the baby, she'll be taking any nutrients in that you ate - it's just you that needs the nutrients now to get better. Try to keep the fluids down and I'm sure you'll be over it before you know it. Sounds like one of those quick virus things.

And have your OB check your mag level (esp if that's what you think is causing the tachy).
