Yes I was initially diagnosed with 2 herniated discs in my lumbar spine (have no idea how it happened, never fell or never in a car accident) and I have been on Ultram for about 3 years and it helps with the chronic pain associated with CF. Just wondering was that prescribed to you by your CF doc or do you also see a pain management doc?

I was a big fan of ultram/tramadol, until one time I hurt my back at work and asked for it. The ER doc who was also in the toxicology department said that he did not like tramadol at all. He wrote me an Rx for vicodin instead. He never explained why he didn't like tramadol, perhaps it's more nephrotoxic or hepatotixic in overdoses or something. I will try to find out.
