First of all, for those that are wondering--here's Mel's address:
Melissa Smith
St Vincents Hosp.
170 12th St.
Coleman Rm 827
NY, NY 10011

Now for news about Mel...She is tired and has good days and bad days. She had a sudden attack of hemoptysis last night--says she thinks she had about two cups of blood out. Then she had a little one tonight. She is talking with the doctor's about what to do about this--had a CT scan this am and is waiting on to see what the results will show. Wednesday should bring some news about this.

Another interesting note is that her team of doctor's thinks that maybe some anti-depressant medication at night-time may help her sleep better. They have discovered that she clenches/grinds her teeth at night, causing her to have migraines and pain radiating down her back. She usually doesn't get a good nights sleep, and is usually tired. So maybe if she is able to relax and have a good night's sleep w/o her mind trying to keep fighting in her sleep--just maybe she will be able to rest.

She tried to blog last night, but something was wrong with the site, and it never posted.

PLEASE KEEP HER IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS....as I know you all are.

Mel, I have been wondering how things were going. Sorry to hear about the hemoptysis. I hope you can get a good nights rest soon. I have noticed Austin talking alot in his sleep here.

We call Kaydan Phippy sometimes (Phipps is his last name) and the nurse was hooking up his meds and he was asleep and he kept saying Phippy stop. LOL

And last night he started scooting over and said a monster was getting him. And while typing this he started scratching his head and said "stupid thing...Browns" he played football on playstation today so thats what that was probably about. LOL!

Take care Mel!
