Hi,

I had posted a while back asking questions about the new Cf clinic I was going to go to. Dr Fiel, and his nurse Paula who are from Philly that just started a CF clinic here.. anyway, I had my first appointment today... and all I can say is HOLY COW they were so nice... I have never been seen in a real CF clinic before where you see the whole team of ppl.

I have talked to Paula (the CF nurse) on the phone once before and I also emailed her, but today I got to meet her, she was so sweet, smart and knowledgable... I am usually very shy about sharing things that are personal and by the end of the session, I was so comfortable with her. She was so open to any questions I had, she made me feel relaxed about not being able to give a sputum sample.. I think I gave a half of chunk of something but we will see... anyway.. she went out of her way for me to make me feel like I was the most important thing in her day...She didn't rush me, and she gave me samples of stuff... I wanted to hug her when I left but didn't.. thats how much I liked her.

Dr. Fiel was super.. he has a great sense of humor as well. He made me laugh and I felt so comfortable with him. He spent soooooooooooooooo much time with me and he popped in a couple of times when I was talking to others like the social worker and nutritionest. I felt like we were all hanging out He even offered to have me bring my family members or friends come in for a "family day" if anyone had any questions of anything. He was right on top of everything and is even making phone calls to have my other medical needs looked at. I have never met a doctor other then my primary doctor that I felt so comfortable with right away....I can't say enough about him or Paula....

The RT was real nice as well, the social worker was so sweet and she is going to send me books to help me cope with my DX better. THe nutritionest is going to help me come up with a way to lose some weight being on steroids and all. They were all wonderful.

Anyway, Diane or Kristen if you read this I told them about you ... and Paula knew who you were.. I can't believe she commutes all the way from Philly.

SO anyone looking for a really good CF team. GO to Morristown Memorial Hospital...

Jennifer 32 w/ CF and Addison's (who is very happy that I found a CF home)

Good to hear, a good CF team is hard to find. At the military hospital they have a pede clinic that is all set up like that (where you see everyone in 1 visit) but they won't see mark. and his CF doctor is great but I really think Mark having a "team" of people was so much better.

Hi Jennifer,
Im glad you liked them both. I KNEW you would. They re an incredible team ! I miss them both a lot! I still email Paula from time to time when i find something on the cf website that i think they should se or if i have questions. Paula actually lives very close to where i am, and yes she has a far commute. I told her i want to come visit them at their "new cf clinic" sometime , and she said that would be great. You will always be happy you found them <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
