Thank you so much for your posts! I did a search on "no mutations" and came across this one that I wrote a while ago. I really appreciate your concern for my son. We were so relieved when the dr. said "no CF," but now I am worried again. We went through the spring and summer deciding whether or not to have the nissen surgery for him. The first dr. said without a doubt do it and the second opinion said no. So we decided against it. Now he has pneumonia so bad; he is not in the hospital and does not have a fever luckily. But we are on our second round of antibiotics with no improvement. His lungs sound so bad crackling and popping when he breathes. If he has no improvement by Monday, we have to take him back to the dr. and I wonder what they will do then? Send us to a pulmonologist? I just don't know what to think.
On a much happier note, he has been responding well to the growth hormone injections and has gained about 9 lbs since May! This is a child that struggled to gain 3 lbs over a 3 yr. period! He is almost 60 lbs now and I think it has moved him up to the 5th percentile!
Anyway, I will keep you updated. I hope this pneumonia clears up soon!
