Update on doctor visit and a few questions.

Thanks all.
I had Shea in the ER today because we were advised by the public health call centre.
She has had so many more BMs and they are so much fouler since starting the Prevacid. She also has complained of a tummy ache and that is unusual for her, she is not a complainer at all.
I called the health line because her stools started to get dark and tarry.
I waited for 4 hours in the ER and she was still at the bottom of the list to be seen. I left because the place was full of hacking, sneezy sick people and Shea was getting really impatient. I am going to take her in the morning to see our doctor.

I think the UTIs are secondary. Her diapers are so messy I think that they are causing the UTIs.
She is great for peeing on the potty but has yet to have a BM on the potty.
At 3 years old that is not unusual but I wonder if her body gives her much warning.

I never thought I would ever talk about poop so much.

The only positive thing since the prevacid is that she wants to eat so much more and usually after a few bites she is not interested.

Wanted to add that Shea will still see the urologist. I will tell the Dr my theory.
She did have an ultrasound of her kidney and bladder and it was normal.

They thanked me for deciding to leave the ER (they were busy) they said we were at the bottom of the list and it would be 6 to 7 more hours for us to wait.
They were taking adults with injured arms before us, I assumed they thought we were not an emergency.

I came home and googled and found that Prevacid can cause this so I didn't give it to her today (which is a holiday,doctors closed).
She is running around acting like an active three year old.

I don't know? When you go to the ER and they are willing to make you wait 10 + hours what do you do? With H1N1 and other seasonal flu I worry about sitting in a packed ER waiting room for 10 hours with a 3 and 6 year old. I have yet to take my kids to a clinic without them picking up something.

I am second guessing myself for sure. I did call the pediatric gastro on Friday and spoke with the receptionist and they said they would get back to me but they never did.

The next time she has a BM if it is the same I will get a sitter for my older DD and wait it out.
