Update on Emily's G-Tube Placement today

Hi all,

Just got off the phone with Tami (Izemmom). The g-tube placement went quickly and with no complications. It is placed higher than expected so it may preclude her from using her vest (ugh). Emily is still groggy but coming around. She will be none too pleased with the immobilzers on her arms (so she can't mess with her g-tube).

Tami got some answers regarding the enzyme issues/timelines prior to the surgery. She can fill all of you in when she is back online.

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.....this is a tough time.

*ETA: She also mentioned how much everyone's email, pms and comments on her thread/blog helped her.

I am so glad everything went well.

I was thinking that since she is so young maybe she could wrap it in an ace bandage when she is not suing it to keep her from messing with it. When Garran first got his they also gave us these surgivest net shirt type things that that helped him leave it alone and kept his clothes from snagging the initial line (which was alot longer and bulkier than the MIC-KEY)
