Oh, this is absolutely NOT what I wanted to read after being gone from the boards for a week. Prayers and good vibes and all things good going to little Kaylee. It is just not fair.....

New posting that I thought maybe others may want to see. If everyone can think and pray about Kaylee and her family at 11am EDT (which is one hour ahead of me here in Iowa). We can join our prayers with hundreds, maybe even thousands at this time...

SATURDAY, AUGUST 18, 2007 07:16 PM, CDT
To begin with I have had a request to post this following message.

"Most churches have already been made aware of this in the community but a lot of you on here have grown to love Kaylee and her family as well. Tomorrow morning at 11:00 am we are asking for all of the churches to say a prayer for Kaylee and her family to begin servicesand to open the service with her favorite song Amazeing Grace. She is such an inspiration to us all and we have each learned something from her. I hope we can keep the Lord busy in the morning and that the Maze family will know that they are loved. Also if you could leave a short note from your church and where you are located so that the family knows they are special to so many. With all of your prayers hopefully they can find comfort and Kaylee can enjoy her life."

Thank you for taking the time to do the above. Whoever stated this, you will be rewarded. Sorry, I haven't updated before now. To start, I want you all to know that Kaylee and the rest of us all appreciate the footprints that you leave in her guestbook. They really give us inspiration and hope. Lab work came back that she was indeed retaining more CO2 and her chloride levels were way down. This explains her severe headaches. Her pain seems to be under control for now. She is on IV's now which I am administering here at home. (I still think that I should be able to skip nursing school clinicals and just be given a degree. I have more hands on than most nurses do these days!) The last few days she hasn't been up to doing much but they have been wonderful. We have spent a lot of time remembering the good times that we have had. She is so smart, she remembers things that even I had forgotten about. It's been really nice. She enjoys the company and thanks everyone for all of the gifts that you have been sending to her and her sisters.

I truly believe all of us praying together can PHYSICALLY and SPIRITUALLY lift this family up. Please let's all write this family on our hearts, stick a note on your computer, your car mirror, your bathroom mirror, your kitchen window--keep them close, as Kaylee's candle is burning brightly and fiercely these days...

I read this, and then had to see the website... I cried. I think way to many of us older CFers are taking for granted the things we can do to keep our pfts up, and then there are people like her who try and try and no matter what they do... it doesn't work. I am so sorry and I will keep her in my prayers. Tell her I said thank you for opening my eyes.
