update on Marie, our Swedishstar

Hey all
Marie is getting better and better, small steps but she is getting there! But ofcourse she thinks it takes far too long haha.

She has been walking with a walker the past few days. And she has been online a few times.

She did have dialysis yesterday but the doctors hope that won't be forever. All the treatments must be very hard on her kidneys. The antifungal meds, the CMV meds..

The very good news is..... Marie called me this evening!!!!!!!!!!
She sounded good I was so happy to hear her voice! It really made my day!!!

I will update sooner next time

Another update!

Marie still gets a little better every day. The doctor said he is happy with the progress she is making!

She said she walked 3 laps in the corridor today with her dad. She walks every day. Yesterday she felt like she was walking on a ship with very hard winds haha. Probably from all the meds she is on.

She is still having dialysis every other day. Her transplant doc wanted her to maybe have it every 3 days but the dialysis doctor wasn't happy with that so she still has it every other day. She is still very hopefull that she will get off it again. She says she can still go to the toilet, so that's a good sign.

Marie's birthday is on the 15th of october and she is planning be home for her birthday. Sounds like a good plan!

Tomorrow she will have a long day with an appt with the eye specialist at the other hospital early in the morning and dialysis after that. She get very tired from the dialysis. So tomorrow she will probably be very tired from everything together.

Please keep those thoughts and prayers coming. I know they help her! So she can really be home for her birthday!
