HI Kori

My mom had metastatic colon cancer. She was diagnosed with it 15 years ago, when she was diagnosed her doctor said she had so much cancer she would not survive a month. She did ultimately die of her colon cancer but not for almost 10 years. She recieved 5FU at first and when it stopped working she got put on a series of different experimental drugs. The one she was on last was Erbitux, it is made by Imclone. My mom had a great response to it. She was on it as a clinical trial, the trial was suspended because of the whole Martha Stewart insider stock trading thing. My mom died while waiting for the trial to be restarted, but since then Erbitux has been FDA approved for colon cancer and has had awesome results. It is indicated in people who can not tolerate 5-FU. Here is a link to some information on the drug, www.erbitux.com. You can google for more info if this is helpful.

I will keep this in mind however with Richard having CF he couldn't withstand the Chemo. It affected his lungs severly and caused more infections which in turn meant more hospitalazations. His PFT's went from the upper 70's to the lower 40's and he was having to use some O2 when in the hospital. his PFT's are now back up in upper ^0's low 70's which is good. But I don't know how many chances we can take on Chemo considering that basically the Cancer is fighting against the CF and the CF is fighting against the Cancer. Inside Richard's body is basically like a war zone expect without a winner. But thanks for the advice and I will pass it along.

So sorry to hear. Think positive and hope for the best. Life so sucks. Like it's not bad enough he has had to deal with CF, but cancer too? So sorry to hear.
