Thank you everyone for the helpful information. He is currently on zantac because they do believe he has reflux which my 18 month old son w/o cf had. My son is also on enfamil lactose free and so will be switching to similac sensitive because he also appeared to be lactose intolerant which both of my older sons had this issue as an infant. Yes my 7 week old does sometimes projectile vomit so that could be another issue they might look for. I just at the point where I want to know why he's vomiting.

well the dr called again today that the throat culture from 2 weeks ago came back negative but was positive for staph, ok now what. I contacted our new CF clinic and explained what the other clinic had said and will be going there bright and early tomorrow morning, hopefully they will be able to get some answers for me. I will post what we find out.

the beginning is such a LONG process...tests, tests and more tests...med changes, dr. appts, etc.. once the meds get regulated and they control the reflux things tend to get easier (until something else pops its head up, lol). my daughter ended up having to have a nissan fundolopication procedure for her severe reflux and vomiting...she had to sleep in a "slope and sling" until she was 4 months old and couldnt even lay down flat to have her diaper changed or she would start aspirating. hopefully you will get it all sorted out soon! good luck and God Bless!

Well we went to the Dr. yesterday and he had some tests done. The ultrasound, done instead of the gi test, the chest x-ray, and the blood work all came back normal. I guess this is good news but I'm still wondering. They upped the caloric recipe of the formula because they feel he is not gaining enough weight, he's 8 weeks old and weighs 8lbs 11oz. They also want me to make sure I am putting in all the recommended amount of rice cereal and they want him to drink 20oz of formula a day plus breastmilk at night. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get him to eat that much when he only wants to drink about 16 oz before nursing at night, I'm not going to force feed him. They also upped the enzymes to one capsule of the Pancreacarb before each meal. If anyone has any suggestions on this i would appreciate it,when I give him the enzyme I put it on some applesauce but it seems most of it he spits back out. They also want me to do his chest pt and xopenex twice a day and the pulmozyme once a day. They are hoping his vomiting will subside bit we will see. We go back in two weeks to follow up.
