Sara the questions you are raising were discussed in the thread you started about what the difference is between the trio and altera. It seems to come down to pari customizing the nebulizer for different meds. We don't know what separates the altera from the trio - there may be significant differences in the holes in the metal head, who knows. OR there may be no difference at all. I'm leaning towards some difference in the head but so far I can't find anything to prove it. The metal head is a very advanced piece of equipment and if there are any differences they would be microscopic and definitely not apparent to the naked eye.

<br />Using the altera for other drugs is not going to kill you but you could end up getting a different dose than you are supposed to so I guess it is one of those "at your own risk" things. Hence the reason they are specifically compounding tobra for the trio (so you get the right dose).
