I have some sort of virus that comes with  a sore throat and fever and major throat drainage that makes me cough nonstop ,especially at night. Cant get my dr at the clinic to call me back yet . Should i lay off the hts till the drainage slows . I'm not having any trouble coughing it up yet. That will come later. I mean my throat is raw almost bleeding. My heart rate is been really high today from coughing. Has anyone else had this problem? I usually don't when i'm not sick.<br>

Hey Regina,
I normally take HTS daily with my evening treatments (I take Xopenex, and then HTS with the vest). I recently was admitted to the hospital to start a round of IV antibiotics, and my doc decided to hold the HTS while I was in the hospital because I was getting Xopenex and the vest every 3 hours, and coughing constantly. Coughing is obviously beneficial with CF, but I figure when it's to the point that you aren't getting any rest, and feel like your heart is going to beat out of your chest, it might not be quite worth it, so why induce coughing anymore. Good luck! I hope you get to feeling better soon!
