I have been on Pulmozyme since it has been out and I would never want to go without it. I f I even miss one day I notice much thicker mucous. I'm like some of you. Besides CF, I have asthma, psudeomonus and mrsa. I do my vest and use advair and albuterol every day too. Also, Tobi is horrible for me! when it first came out I tried it and I had problems with wheezing, coughing alot more and coughing up blood. YUCK! I definetly have a history of hemoptysis, but I still would not go without my Pulmozyme. Right now I am taking steroids because I caught a cold and had some wheezing....which explains why I am up so late (11:30 pm) chatting on the MB!!

Hello, I went to clinic yesterday and my CF DR told me to start the pulmozyme again. He feels it will help me more than going with out it. This is how he told me to try it for 1 full month and then see if my PFT's change or if I start feeling better. He told me to do a prove treatment wait 10-15 minutes than do the pulmozyme and wait for about 20-30 minutes and do my Vest for 15 minutes. I tried this this morning and to my suprise it really helped me. When I stopped the pulmozyme because of blood in my sputum I kept having a morning cough that would last until around 10 am which is for 4 hours I would put up with this. I thought I was fighting with an infection until this morning I did everything as my DR told me and I feel good and got up a lot of yucky junk. I was just wanting to update from the last time I wrote on here about not doing pulmozyme. I am glad to be doing it again.

Hi - just curious as to if and when the adjustments to the order and spacing of treatments occur. My son is 5 and he uses the Pari neb. He has used the same neb. since he was 1 1/2. He does alb., accupella and TOBI in the am and alb. with pulmicort, pulmozyme (all while on the vest) then TOBI in the evening. This is how they have always told us to do it at the CF clinic. Do diff. clinics have different protocols or do the trtmts and spacings change as the person gets older due to the changes in the body? Thanks for any replies. Jo Ann
