UTIs

My girlfriend was always getting UTI's with her boyfriend. The doctor told her to drink cranberry juice - it wasn't a cure all to be all. Then she disclosed to her doctor that her husband has really large genitalia and her doctor instructed she take 1 cranberry pill everytime before having sex. She does this religiously and now they are married 6 years with a little girl and no more UTIs....but she never skips her cranberry pill - she keeps them bedside. If you decide to try this route let me know and I can ask her if there is a specific brand / dosage she recommends.

I would watch your sugar intake. Sugar breeds infection of any kind. It is very difficult to do as we need our calories but perhaps cut down on the refined sugars if you consume them.

I had one UTI when I was in for the tx. A nurses aid wiped me the wrong way. I just did not like her and I guess she was just careless. I reported her but I am sure they did not do anything about it. He A$$ was so big that when she is on her butt one day in the hospital, they will not be able to move her. SHe definitley could be the circus for the largest A$$ I ever seen.

Yes, cranberry juice is directionally correct. However, make sure you're buying the 100% juice kind. The other is full of high fructose corn syrup which is dreadful on the liver.

If you don't care for cranberry juice there are cranberry extract in pill form.

Emily should probably have mentioned that she goes through about 14 gallons of juice a week...most of them cranberry...in one form or another. Crangrape, cranraspberry, plain cranberry. She tried yogurt once but I think she just hated the taste of that stuff!

Thanks everybody. I do drink lots of cranberry juice, usually with grape or apple or raspberry, but I do drink it often. I also wash the area, without overdoing soap or anything. When I said I wash the area, I just mainly mean I rinse it clean with warm water. I also have cranberry tablets I take sometimes...

However, LouLou Lauren, that advice really seems helpful. My Mike also has a... size issue. I shall try taking a tablet before we "get together" hahahaa. I'll see if that helps. Thanks!

for the yeast like itching, maybe you can try using a milder soap when you wash/bathe, like Dove Sensitive. It has no fragrances or dyes. Things like that can cause irritation and itching.

Okay so my sister would kill me if she saw this, but she had constant UTI's and yeast infections. Her gyn suggested that it could be caused by a reaction to condoms or tampons (she'd get an infectioevery month). I'm not sure which it was, but she is on the pill now and no longer uses tampons and she doesn't have a problem anymore. And my gyn said to pee before and after sex (but I don't). Just thoght maybe my 2cents could help!
