My 13 year old daughter is mostly vegetarian at this point. This has been her instinct and I trust that she knows what makes her body feel best. I offer lots of soaked and unsoaked nuts, sneak protein filled and iron rich leafy greens into smoothies and soups, and encourage hard boiled eggs and tofu, which she loves. She also loves nut butters and coconut oils. Additionally, she follows a comprehensive supplement regimine.
