THe problem is it opens up the foundation for scrutiny b/c negative people/press will say they mislead the public to get donations-not that I agree with that! But its happened before to organizations. It happens alot, actually. Esp around holiday time when people are giving more.
The truth is better-it could say 'this child won't live to see their grown kids, or see their grandchildren, and some won't even make it to graduation.'
That sends the message but remains honest, covering their butts.

I know what you mean by this Christian, and know there is truth in it, but I sure hope that's not the truth for me
- or you -
or any of us.

Call me in denial if you must.

I understand where you are coming from. How ever... I'm 19 and I was told I would be very very lucky to live long enough to graduate.

Hey W,
I don't live thinking that I won't be here to see my kids graduate either. When I said the above, it was basically to cover my bases <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">-If you say on this site "I don't live thinking I won't be here when I'm 50"-you have people jumping on your back saying you are in denial and haven't faced facts.

Maybe people think I am in denial b/c I feel the way I do. Not that its anybody's business, but my husband and I thoroughly discussed him being a single parent before deciding to have children. We have insurances and accounts set up for our children, to prepare for the future, making sure that the one thing they won't have to be stressed about is their finances. So we've faced facts.

But my husband and I have a different hope and outlook for the future. There's another thing people jump on your back for-if you strongly believe in God/or the Bible. But I don't care, we are secure in our beliefs and feelings. I'm not saying I expect God to save me from Cf, or from my husband getting hit by a car-thats not what I believe. But I do believe in not worrying about that point in my life. I believe in proceeding through life, and continuing to plan on living, and planning on seeing my grandkids. Maybe some call that denial. I call it living without fear.
