DS was 3 when he got his vest. His doctor preferred we wait until he was a bit older. Plus I believe at the time chest size had to be 19" for the hill rom. They now make smaller sizes. Think most of the local people I know who go to u of mn get their by the time they're a year or 1 1/2 years old.

My DD was around 20 months when we got her vest. We had to puch a little, but not too much. They said they usally wait until 2 and we said she was big enough and needed it and they agreed. Her chest was also 21 inches around and her vest fit perfectly! If you need help deciding which vest to choose, let me know... DH did TONS of research b/c CF Clinic let us pick and our insurance was would cover whichever one we chose. Feel free to e-mail me @ carrie.naff@yahoo.com

Kate got her vest at 18 months, as her chest circumference was big enough. I bugged and bugged about the vest. She loves it! We got a SmartVest and I love it!! It is really easy to use and covenient. I've worked with "the vest" and I much prefer the one hose system.
