HI!

My boyfriend and I want to buy a vest, but here (Spain) nobody uses it, so we have lot of questions.

-Is it easy to use?. Everytime we ask his doctors about the vest they say it hasn´t been proved to be better than chest therapy. We don´t agree with that so we want to get one, but I am afraid that since nobody uses it here, the pneumologist wont be able to tell us how to use it... How will we know what settings are the best?

</end quote></div>

Your docs are lying to you. My opinion is that this is becaue government won't pay for it so they don't want patients feeling like they're being short-changed.

It's easy to use, just like the HillRom. Except you have one button to push for the full 30 minute therapy.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>-We have tried hillroom vest 104 for a few days and seemed to work great. Hillroom is available in spain since 2006. (Although they have only sold 3 vest so far...) I would like to know why you prefer respirtech better. Is it only because is more confortable or do you think it works better? Do you cough up more sputum with the respirtech one?. Since we will have to pay 13K we would like to buy the one that works the best. We won´t be able to change it for years (too expensive!!!). </end quote></div>

It works better. It's pulses are in different waveforms than the HillRom and helps to bring up more sputum.

</a>
The Jacket is custom fit, unlike HillRom's S, M, L, XL so the jacket fits better.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>-Do you know if respirtech vest is sold in europe? Are you able to use respirtech vest when you travel overseas (because of electricity differences?).? </end quote></div>

Probably not. But I'm sure they'd be willing to ship it to you. Call them. www.respirtech.com

I use my Vest overseas with a transformer (heavy, but worth it to keep my lungs health)

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>-Do you know who can I mail in respirtech so I can get some more information about the vest??. </end quote></div>

I have a HillRom and only heard about the Respirtech here, but it sounds like everyone really prefers the Respirtech. I'm just wondering what the exact differences are between the two. How are the settings that different? I thought the concept of the vest was basically the same so I don't understand how there could be THAT much difference from brand to brand. Can anyone explain in greater detail why the Respirtech is superior?

</end quote></div>

See the whitepaper link that I posted above as well.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote> Also, for those of us in the states, have you had any problems getting your insurance (if you have it) to cover the Respirtech, especially if you already have or had the HillRom? Much appreciated - thanks <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"></end quote></div>

My insurance company realized how much money they would save if I was bringing up more sputum with the Respirtech.

I also had a horrible fitting HillRom jacket (no one bothered to tell me!!!!!!!!!) and the custom fit Respirtech jacket helped assure me I was getting what i needed.

This post came at a great time for us ... we just started the process of getting a vest for Ellie and want to make sure we get the most effective option for her. Anyone know if the RespirTech vests come in sizes small enough for an almost two-year old? She's a petite thing, about 22 pounds.
