Popping off a tube is only necessary if you have a vest without a pause setting, I think... the newer ones can easily pause and resume without disrupting the treatment cycle.

We were told that it is important for the setting to vary throughout the treatment (changing the mhz on the VEST) to target different parts of the lungs (faster hits the smaller airways, slower hits the larger ones -- or vice versa). The pressure is a comfort issues and depends on the size of the child. We just upped Alyssa's from 3 to 5 on the recommendation of our RT because of her age and growth.

Thank you for all the responses; I feel like some of this stuff i just figure out on my own or from you guys. Maggie's Vest is definately making her cough and I have been playing with the frequency a little bit. I feel bad because I had just left the settings alone and it's like her VEST is more passive than with her "working" with her VEST.
