Vest therapy

My friends do the chest therapy on their daughter where they tap her chest and back, but they are wanting to get the vest for her, but the pulmo said that she isn't old enough/big enough. Is there a certain weight and/or age that kids need to be before getting a vest?

i know patients as young as 2 years old to use HFCC.


call Respirtech, the company owned by the man who invented the Vest, and ask what their opinion is. no one knows better than they do.

We were told that the Smart Vest could be used on children as young as 15 month, wieght over 20 lbs, chect circumference of at least 20 inches...

Getting our son's vest was based on his chest measurement. I don't remember what it had to be though. He was around 20 months old.

Hi, my daughter uses SmartVest and has been since she was around 22 months old. They never used a chest measurement or anything, they kinda jsut went by how well she tolerates and acts towards things (which is she is a bit smart, like talking to a 12 year old in a tiny body).. but she isn't big for her age, and she tolerates it extremely well (not at first but she had to get used to it)

the doctors really prefer you to do the chest therapy until they are 2 ,their bodys are developing and the bones still a litlle softer before 2, thats what my c.f. doctor told us..we waited until he was exactly 4 when the bones are much more sense and stronger....
