Yes, the Incourage is the way to go. We actually have both a HilRom and an Incourage. Our older daughter got the HilRom shortly after she was diagnosed at 3 years old because that was what the clinic recommended. Later we were very unhappy with that clinic and switched to a different one. We learned that research shows the Incourage vest is better (plus the hoses don't pop off all the time!!)

If you have a choice get the Incourage!

We have the smart vest and love it three is only one tube and it can be washed easily which is great! you just remove the bladder and throw it in the washing machine just let it air dry which it drys fast. I love that you can also set your whole series so you don't have to put it in everytime. just pick the program and push start. it will beep after each interval and you push start again. which will be nice as he gets older because he can push start and not have to be able to remember all the settings. You can have up to 4 programs. Its very portable and comes with a travel case on wheels. the machine itself can lay down or stand up.

I highly recommend it. We ended up getting it because they will let you start at a smaller chest measurement and customize the vest.

Hope this helped if you have any other questions just ask.

We have the In Courage and we really love it, but to my knowledge it is not machine washable. Our son used to have terrible reflux, so I know where you are coming from wanting something that can wash up. We have had no major incidents while he has been in the vest, but I have had to clean it. It washes up pretty easily with a damp towel and some mild soap. I am not sure if there are more specific instructions for cleaning it. If there are, I should find out, too! Oh, and our son was about 15 months when he started using the vest and he did not like it at all the first couple of times, but now he is used to it and will sometimes even fall asleep during the night time one. So don't get too upset if it goes badly the first couple of times, it should get better.
