Viagra

Has anyone taken Viagra (drug name sildenafil) for mucus production? It's a vasodialator so it should open up the vessels in the lungs. I have a friend who was in a study for this but she wasn't able to stay in the study. They already use sildenafil for pulmonary hypertension, also. Thoughts?

So if the drug is used for its additional benefits, does that make its original purpose an undesired side effect?

Joking aside, that really does sound interesting. Does anyone know of anywhere it is being discussed in an article?

In the commercials it always says that women should not take nor handle the drug, anyone know why?

You are actually correct. It was being tested for pulmonary hypertension origially and the correction of erectile dysfunction was a side effect they decided to get an indication for. Much more profitable.

That's actually not true. You are thinking of the AndroGel commercial - woman should not handle testosterone drugs. PDE5's are perfectly fine for women to handle.
