Well, Graycie had a good appt and has finally reached 20 lbs. 15mos old and gained almost a pound in 8 weeks. When When Grayson was first born, in the hospital she tested very low for vitamin D and has been on a suppliment since she came home almost 1yr ago. While at the appt they noticed that she is bow legged, her ped said that they would wait and see if it straightened itself out. The CF team would like to run a blood test for rickets(sp)? She is at the 3% for height and 10% for weight and they were alittle more concerned because of her past. She was very malnorished for the first 6 months of her life due to her short gut. My questions are:1. Has anyone else been tested for this?
2. Does height have anything to do with CF? I know she is a peanut and being short helps with her BMI which is 25% now, although they say she is on yellow, but she looks chubby. Sorry this is so long but just when you think you have a handle on something they throw something else at you. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

I sent you a PM, but wanted to say that Luke is very short too. The regular ortho. dr. we saw (we are trying to get in with a pediatric ortho, now) said that he is appearing shorter and probably even measuring shorter because he is bow legged.
Angela, Mom to 7, including Luke 2 yr. old with CF

I have a friend whose daughter doesn't have any health problems at all, and she was tested for (and has) rickets. She is on vitamin D and the doc instructed her mom to take her outside for ATLEAST 30 minutes a day.

(that being said my daughter is 19 months, 31 inches, and 21 lbs... she is just tiny -no CF)
