Vitamin Question-HELP!

Hi all,

I haven't posted in a while, things HAD been going really well. Well, at my daughter's April yearly blood draw it came back that her vitamin D levels are low. (27 and normal for a 3 year old is 30-100- YIKES!) The dr. prescribed Drisdol which is 150.00!!! I do not have that kind of money for vitamins!! I called and left a message for the nurse to see if the CF pharmacy (which I've never used) can get them for less than the Target and Walgreens around here. The message they left back said we could try an over the counter gummy vitamin or a Nature Valley (or some Nature brand). She said the levels are pretty much the same. Well, if that is the case then I guess it sounds better to use over the counter but I don't know.... Can I get some opinions of you all? Do you think I should bite the bullet and get the pricey stuff or do over the counter? I really don't want to put a price on Kate's health, but that seems really steep for vitamins. Any advice/suggestions would be great.

thanks, Zoe mom to Kate 3 wCF and Ava 1

Drisdol is not OTC? I am not 100% sure about kids, but I know many adult CFers use OTC supplements.

Does she take ADEK vitamins at all?

It sounds really expensive for vitamins. Where do you buy your enzimes if you don't use CF Pharmacy?? I was told no to buy anywhere else but CF Pharmacy. Enzymes are really expensive too. Sorry I'm not very helpful.
