vitamin stains

Thanks all for the replies.

yes the vitamin stains are frustrating and even more so is my 5 month old who always hated them is starting to shut his mouth and turn his head.

our pharmacy said they can't even get ADEKs and suggested having the CF clinic write up a prescription to be compounded-that way I could also have a different flavor added. however, the CF clinic said if he's using the Ultrase enzymes then (company loyalty) he must use the ADEKs. I don't know what to do. Those enzymes seem to work well and I don't want to mess with that. But I need to figure something out for the vitamins. oh hum.

Emily is a bit older, but she too was refusing and spitting out the liquid vitamin, and we tried a couple different brands. So, now we give her the SourceCF chewables. She is not quite old enough to chew them, so we crush them and put them on applesauce. Check with your clinic to see if there is a "brand compatible" chewable, and if there is a chewable that meets his needs. It sure save a lot of clothes (hers and mine!) and countertops/floors!

It will get easier.

Our pharmacy was unable to get adeks anymore, so I switched to aqua adeks -- EVEN more orange color and smells putrid, but DS doesn't seem to mind. I believe CF services pharmacy still carries the adeks for awhile, but sounds like they'll be discontinuing them soon.
