Hey Guys,

Quick survey... how many of you have a lower sounding voice that catches other peopl's attention? I have a very low, kinda raspy voice (I guess from coughing my whole life) that doesn't exactly fit with my 5'1" frame and I love the reactions I get from people when I first meet them and they comment on my voice. Anyone else have this type of voice and/or get reactions to it?

My boys have alwyas had deep voices, even before they had a cough. When I first brought home my sone (beofre we even knew he had cf) people would comment on his husky cry.

I too have a deeper sometimes raspy sounding voice. I think it is due in part to coughing and the meds we take the aerosols and stuff. I think Pulmozyme - if you are on it - can affect your voice. My friends always commented on my voice when I was in HS. I think now it comes and goes, but I definitely notice the same thing.

Well for me, pre transplant I definitely will say I had a raspy and lower voice but after the transplant there was a huge difference. I could even sing soprano. Very strange but usually people with somewhat a lower voice do better with soprano. I still have a rather low but clear sounding voice. Does anyone want to call me? lol

My voice is definitely not low- it is squeaky some say- but kind of raspy. People always think I have a cold and I say "No" and they say, but your voice and I am like "i know, its like that..." blah blah blah

Mine is squeaky too. I'm 36 and people that call are always asking for my mom and dad. It works great for telemarketers.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> Becky

Mine is high also. I hate it. When i was a teen, everybody said I laughed like a school girl. ohh well.
Anon, I have people ask me everyday if I have a cold. They say I should get that chacked out and all of that stuff. It seems like after working with them for a couple years, and souning like that everyday, they would figure out it's not going to change.
Iguess I'm just angry(at what I don't know)and don't like to be sick.

I don't know if it was due to the English pronunciation or the tone of voice (I never really liked my voice recorded), but when I had to do "commentary" (an over-dub to a DVD instruction manual) for it, they actually enjoyed the overdub and thought I was a "natural"! Yuka even thought I had a good enough voice to do DJ work in Japan!! (Imagine that!!??)
