Vomit

Appears to be fine. He's eating well, though his output is a little looser than usual this past week, but attribute that to not enough enzymes with his ongoing snackfests.

It's just so different from what we went thru before. The one vomiting episode involved chocolate carnation instant breakfast -- he usually has vanilla, but has had this in the past. The second time involved a chocolate birthday cupcake and it was chocolate milk day.

Methinks it's a reflux issue as well. He never was a good burper and now he's belching like crazy -- loud and forceful. First few times he did it, he was in the backseat of our new car and I was having flashbacks of last spring/summer's puke-fests.

Hmmm- chocolate has been involved in several events. That's a fairly well known trigger food when it comes to reflux, so it seems to be a pretty safe assumption that this could be what's going on combined with the burping. Is he on a ppi already that may just need to be increased? If not maybe starting one would be a good idea.

I'm so glad that he's doing well today. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

He's not on an acid reducer. Was as a newborn -- zantac.

He does eat Little Debbie Brownie Squares, hershey's chocolate and chocolate chip cookies with little or no problem.

I'm not keen on taking him to the doctor right now with all the germs/creeping crud going around, so I figure unless incidents increase, I'll just document and give the clinic a call prior to his appointment in a couple months.

What are the symptoms of an intestinal blockage? My Lexi woke up saturday morning complaining of abdominal pain. She kept getting worse and worse and eventually screaming and crying in pain. She threw up a lot of mucus and about 10 min. later had a very large, but normal looking poop. I was very close to freaking out worrying about a blockage. How do you know? She was better about 30 min later thank goodness.
