So sorry to hear all this, Roy. You are making smart, informed decisions for Julie. I know that your movtivation and knowledge will lead you to the funds necessary. I really hope her lungs come quickly.

I pray that all works out for you & Julie. I believe everyone who has a loved one with CF would do all they could to save their lives. Julie & all CF patients are lucky to have someone like you on their side. Your in my prayers!!

Your story has brought me to tears, the roles of Insurance companies and the politics of it all are horrible. You and Julie will be in my thoughts, I hope that lungs come in for her quickly and that you can raise the money you need to give her this surgery. It never ceases to amaze me that when people put their minds and efforts into a cause how many people will give to support it. Cf is something fairly new to my life, my bf was diagnosed as a baby, and I learn something new about it every day. And my heart goes out to all that are affected by it. I really hope the best for Julie, and you.

UPDATE: Humana has changed course. They have agreed to apply a one-time exception in her case. Julie was listed for lungs today. The surgery will be done at UK under the hands of the world's most prominent surgeon, Charles Hoopes. She has deteriorated badly and they are working to get her off the vent, stronger and increase her nutritional levels.
Please pray for Julie and the steady hand of her transplant team. Please pray for the comfort of the family that lost a loved one to make her 2nd chance happen.
Thank you all for your support. I'm going to get Julie through this. We will continue our crusade against CF.
I told her that I wanted to get her better so that I can marry her again. I really love this very special woman. I married her the first time not knowing about the CF. I want to marry her again without it in her lungs. Lastly, I hate CF. I will NEVER stop fighting to find a cure until her dream is realized.
