warning about inhaling oil

I'm sure this has been asked before, but is there any difference with putting the oils in to a vaporizer and inhaling the fumes as opposed to nebulizing it? I'm not ready to start nebulizing oils, but I've considered doing it in the vaporizer. But if it's basically the same I guess it doesn't really matter.
Since I have Cepacia and pretty bad reactive airway disease I'm a little concerned with the oils still.

Inhaling them via vaporizer (facial sauna etc) is less of a direct impact, and you can back away some and breath so the mist isn't as concentrated. Personally i'd rather see someone do something instead of not do it, so yes the vaporizer helps also. I personally feel that nebbing the non harmful oil of oregano is the best, but if you arent comfortable with that, then use the vaporizer.

You know what it is, honestly-I'm amazed with the results. And very impressed at your knowledge of all this too, SD.
I just want to bring it up to my doctor first. (And she's not a beurocratic know it all. She's very open minded to anything natural or supplemental.)
But, I have such a bad "asthmatic" component. I'm so sensitive to cold, to smells, perfumes, ect that I'm a little concerned about inhaling potent smelling oils.
I'll let ya know when I start it though. FYI-I'm not at all an anti-natural person who listens only to their doctors every word. I do liver juice fasts, garlic broth fasts, I've done garlic and coffee enemas, I do veggie juicing...if yall ever wonder anything let me know. I'm no scaredy cat!

I will answer you right now, and let you know what I know (granted i'm a tad drunk right now, but I will offer what I can right now)...To be honest, if your child is now at 20% PFT, at the age of 13, your son is VERY serious. He obviously is in dire straits. I have no idea what his mutation(s) are, and even if I did, I couldn't help him. He obviously has very low lung capacity. I am VERY hesitant to offer any type of knowlege to others that I have when they are in dire straits health wise, in any form. Because if I offer what I would do to someone in a very tight bind, and if things either get worse or do nothing, I am to blame. If I offer my advice to those who are medium grade lvl of CF and are looking for possible help, and what I recommend helps, I helped them out. You have to look at things from that perspective. If you help you were extremely beneficial, if you offer advice and someone gets worse regardless what the context is, you will be persecuted.

I know NOTHING of your son's health, his culture, or anything about him medically speaking. I could easily just say "yeah well do this type of thing in this way in this doseage", but even if I 100% knew what your son was about, I couldn't remotely, reliably answer in that way and be able to seriously say I was helping your son.

I will tell you what I do know, and I am NOT advocating you to do ANYTHING that I say to help your child. I'm just discussing what I do know from my own use and the use of others. Oregano oil is one of the least antagonizing oils to our condition. Oregano oil (thankfully) is also one of the most beneficial oils to our condition. I started to neb the oil from a specific source because my health couldnt be helped anymore from my conventional sources. I got VERY low (compared to what i'm used to) health wise. I made a decision to F them, and help myself out. Since I made that decision, I have made massive strides and my health has literally turned around. I got WAY away from the whole cycle of nuke(antibiotics)/sick rinse and repeat x 1000, and I showed rediculously high benefit.

I am like a peasant coming from a war torn country, to a new place where something benefits me and is totally new to others. What am I supposed to do? I can't offer real cutting edge scientific data on things, I can only offer partial data on things. I realize that what I am talking about won't cure cancer, heal CF, or stop many of the other ills in society. What I do know is what it did for me. Was I young? No. Did I have extremely low PFT's like your son? No. The lowest I ever got was about 49%. I was lucky to have information that lead to where I am now, and I was able to later go to very strong PFT's due to my actions.

So what does all this mean? It means i'm NOT a doctor, it means i'm VERY sorry for your son. I am EXTREMELY hesitant to recommend ANYTHING that is outside a doctors care, especially when it involves people who are extremely ill, and even more so those who are pregnant, or very young people.

All I know is what has benefitted me like a new life. I dont, and wont ever make claims saying what has worked for me will work for you. But to be friendly, if you ever want to talk to someone, please call me regardless when, @ 813-716-5497. My name is Sean. And I can only offer what I know.

Where do you find "water soluable" oil of oregano? Never heard of this before...

Thanks.</end quote></div>

It's made by North American Herb And Spice. It's called H2 Orega. Google it, there are one or two places to get it besides the manufacturers site.

Sean,
You are right to say "I can only offer what I know". I would hope that we all will process your information with a grain of salt and some common sense. (But, if everyone used their common sense, there wouldn't be info-mercials.)
The are so many variables with cf and things that work for you might not work for everyone. I am grateful for your experience and enjoy reading your stories.

Jane

BTW I think you may have been a little harsh on tonja. Parents don't like to hear that their kid is in "dire straits". Be gentle. My son has fev of 40% but he has crappy technique.
