Sure. Since the most damage that cfers face is with their lungs, the mildness of the disease is determined by the lungs capability to breath. This is determined by PFTs. PFTs above 70% (in general) are mild cases. I think moderate are 45-70%, and below 45 seveare. I think I saw this info listed on this site outside of the forum section.
Keeping it mild means keeping on track with therapy and meds to keep that mucus moving around and out (once it settles in your lung too long, it creates scar tissue in that area, so even if the mucus does finally come out, that area is basically unable to breath anymore.)
