Yep, We tried the Nuby sippy after my last post on here. Little John was not a fan. Today is day 3, and I think we might be do just fine with the sippy cup. I measured out 20 oz of whole milk, added some half/half, and a some cream, 1 carnantion instant breakfast. Then throughout the day I added it to his Gerber sippy cups, and he drank every cup.

Plus I was afraid of how he might act when he saw another bottle again. Well, today he saw my sisters baby's bottle, and he didn't go for it or get upset. VERY,VERY HAPPY about that. He was the same way with the binky...One day I took it away, and after a week he didn't want anything to do with it.

Thanks Melissa...and the other two of you..I should of just gave it a couple more days.

Just wanted to say **Yay!!** to you for sticking it out- and hooray to little John for turning the corner and doing so well with his sippy cup. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> It's a BIG milestone for any baby, never mind one with a lot riding on it nutritionally speaking. I'm so glad all is going well. (Coming from a mom who had a baby-turned-toddler who had a bottle nearly glued to his hand and understands the challenges of weaning them off it!)

eta: LOVE your pic of him- he's adorable!!

We kept using the bottle for a long time, too. He didn't like sippy cups, preferred ones with straws. The ones with valves are impossible to clean, so I just use plastic cups with lids and disposable straws for DS morning carnation instant breakfast. At meals he uses a regular cup.

My son loves the Gerber "Nuk" cup. They have a soft top, but are a slightly different shape than the Nuby--I really can't see the difference, but he sure can! This is the only cup he will drink from, but he drinks really, really well from it. He still gets most of his calories from the high calorie milk, so I go with what works. They sell them at Wal Mart in the baby aisle. It comes with a handle part which will come off. Luke likes it better without the handles--I think it reminds him of his bottle. Best of luck--I know this dilema all too well.
