We Love You Randy.

I cry as I type this.

On August 19th, it will be a year since Randy joined the angels above. He was such a good and decent young man and life was at his grasp. We all miss him so dearly. Life will never be the same since his passing but his spirit is with us and we can share his memory with others by memorializing his life.

If only for a moment, please share this dedication with us.

Thanks, DRB. In his honor and all of the children who suffer, I
just want to help others now.
Thank you for sharing your story about Randy and his remembrance site. I can't imagine the pain you must feel looking at his drawings and photos as a young boy. These touched me since my son is also 15. I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved son. The tribute by the school was lovely.

What a beautiful website, the red maple dedication brought me to tears. I am so sorry for your loss. Surely he is looking down watching out for all those he loves. Thank you for sharing this website.

I'm having a problem logging on as Randford. Anyway, thanks for all
for the kind comments about Randy and the web site. I feel like all
of you are my family. I pray that one day no child will be born
with CF. No child should suffer. In the mean time the battle wages
on.
Thank you all.
day I will have some.
That day was very special. When the choir started singing
"Tears in Heaven" we all broke down. It was much more
than I could have imagined. Originally I just thought a few
students and friends would attend. Instead, the entire student body
showed up. So for years, we will always be able to go back to the
high school and see the trees grow and see the plaques in both boys
honors.

The other boy, Stephen, died from brain swelling 9 days before
Randy. He tumbled off a car while horsing around in the school
parking lot. Randy also died from brain swelling but it was from a
brain abscess bought on by pseudomonas aeruginosa in the left lung.
So if Mark starts getting headaches for some strange reason, get a
CT scan asap.

I'm glad your family enjoyed the dedication. They have good hearts.
And keep us informed on those kids!!!

As for staying around on the discussion board, I'll be here for the
long haul. There are so many good people just trying to get though
life while dealing with this disease. To me, we are all family.
I share your anger. I sometime wonder where God is in all of this.
The young and innocent should never suffer, no matter what disease.
I would gladly trade my life so that Randy would live.
Thanks, I'm glad the site touched you.
everyone. I'm glad that I did. Randy would be so proud.
Welcome to the site RF, what a touching memorial. What a sad story, but look how many people he's touched in his short life! Wish we'd known him....

Thank you for those kind words. I was reluctant to share the site
until a family member encouraged me. I don't want people to be sad
when they view the site. Perhaps I should change it a bit. I guess
I wanted to share the essence of Randy's life, the reality of the
disease and how it affects all of us emotionally.

Each and every person on this discussion board is special to me.
Every struggle is precious. Every problem is worth solving. I wish
I could learn everyone's story. I would love to see a book or
documentary or even a cable channel where people can see and share
stories with those of us who struggle and others whose memories are
honored. Perhaps that is naive but it is well intended.

Let's keep fighting!
