Weight gain on Prednisone

my five year old son Marcos with CF has been on Prednisone and has gain 13 pounds since July. He has very round face and a belly he looks so cute but he is also getting very hairy wish is one of the side affects that you can get for taking this med. How long do you have to take Prednisone for? I so glad to see him eating all his meals and snacks.

Thanks everyone. He was only on it for 7 days total. He's no longer on the Prednisone, unless he has another reaction to the Augmentin. He has been on Prednisone in the past, when he had infections he couldn't seem to kick, but I don't remember it causing him to put on extra weight. He's still got the extra pound, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
