Well, it happened...

Well, it happened...my first pneumothorax. It happened on Wednesday morning around 2:30am. My husband rushed me to the ER where my local pulmo. dr. is located. X-ray showed I had a completely collapsed right lung. I now have a chest tube in <img src=""> but I am home. I will say a pneumothorax is the worse pain I have ever felt and this chest tube doesnt feel too good either. I took an x-ray yesterday and they said about 95% of my lung is back up, just a small part up top is still collapsed. I go get an xray on Saturday and if that looks good the hopefully the tube will come out on Monday. I will try to keep everyone updated, if I can handle sitting up and getting online. I just wanted to post this in case anyone was wondering why I havent been online or in the chat room lately.

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that. Get some rest, and let your husband take good care of you. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Wow. Sorry to hear this. I hope you feel better very soon. Would you mind describing the way the pain felt? Also was the collapse in a lobe that is typical problematic for you? Were you having an exacerbation or can you relate anything to why you had it when you did? Finally, what is your FEV1? Sorry for the million questions. I've never had this and want to know a bit more about it so if it does I will be more prepared.
