Went toe BEF Night- Met Boomer

He came to our clinic a few years ago as a speaker at our annual "Parent's Night".

He was really great. I'd go and see him again if the opportunity presented itself.

There was a young woman there that has CF and somehow it came about (I can't remember how exactly) that she didn't have access to the internet because she didn't have a home PC. Right there, Boomer called to one of his assistants in the crowd and told him to make sure that young woman got a computer. His assistant ran right over and took down a bunch of information and a new PC was on it's way! <img src="i/expressions/present.gif" border="0">

i met boomer at a thing here in texas, his whole team of people are great and do a lot for cf, he didn't come off as the world's greatest public speaker to me though, still if i had the opportunity to see him again i would.

for those of you who hadn't noticed in the past boomer esiason's foundation is the one that helped make this website, look in the top right of the page and you can see the BEF little emblem thingy the blue circle one

i got his autograph too, have it framed in my room, from what i heard his son gunner has a facebook that he talks to people with cf on

It doesn't suprise me at all that he arranged for the youg girl with CF to get a computer! That's great! Another thing I did not know about his foundation, BEF, is that they help families with the costs associated with transplants, like for staying near the transplant hospital and food, ect. So if you know anyone awaiting a transplant, tell them to go to his website and get the information. He said there was no red tape, he hates red tape.
