I have been complaning to my MD that I think I need a change in bronchodilators for my Asthma.
I am 51 years old and only lately been feeling my age because of constant lung infections and asthma episodes.
My Dr is paranoid about giving a CF'er Spiriva or some of the other drugs because of drying the secretions of the lungs.
What is everyone out there using, I currently am using albuterol, serevent and pulmicort, but some days feel like a need something better to open me up. looking for suggstions to ask about.

I have a pretty hard time when it comes tightness in my chest. I think I'm on the verge of asthma (if I don't already have it). I used to use albuterol every morning and night with my vest until my doc told me that was overkill with using Advair. He just put me on Atrovent (with the Advair). It tastes crappy, but I think it works like a charm. It isn't fast acting, but there's a big difference in the way I breathe and how my lungs are through out the day.

I nebulize atrovent and albuterol together and then do advair 500/50 twice a day. I find I feel worse if I skip any one of these meds.

as many on here know I treat my disease very aggresively so if it is there I am on it, I am on xopenex, foridil and spiriva for bronchodilation. I also take Qvar (inhaled steroid), Motrin and Zithromax for anti-inflammatories.'

Jeremy's bronchiodilators are nebulized Albuterol and Atrovent 2x day with his vest therapies. Plus, Advair 500/50 2x a day.

Do you do nebulized albuterol, or an inhaler?

800mg TID, I don't seem to have any problems with it(stomach, etc...) but others say they do

I take Foradil and Spiriva. Both have been wonderful, no problems with Spiriva. I did Atrovent before starting Spiriva also with great results. When having problems I switch back to Xopenex and Atrovent through the nebulizer

I have so many that I use. I take nebulized albuteral and atrovent twice a day, If i need an extra boost I use Zopenex. Being that I have angina, Zopenex is better for the heart, though I don't feel it does anything for me.

I take advair 500/50 twice a day, I take spiriva twice a day, inhaled. I also have mdi of albuteral just in case I am out.

Sometimes though it feels like these meds make me cough more then I would without them....
