I don't really know what I want from typing this.....maybe a couple cyber hugs, a lot of prayers.........I'll definitely take the prayers!
Briceton went in yesterday for a bronch, sigmoid, and upper GI. The bronch showed a lot of inflammation, swelling, and secretions (which were mostly clear).....but the pulmo made the comment twice that you just don't see this in CF patients Briceton's age....Okay freak me out! At first he thought that it could be related to acid reflux, but I then reminded him that Briceton had the nissen fundoplication surgery a while back. So he asked the GI doc, who said that the nissen was still in place as well as tight! What else could it be? What is so different about Briceton's lungs then someone else his age with CF? Are CFers lungs not usually inflamed?
The other "freak me out part" was that they told me yesterday to come back at our regular CF appt (Jan 24th) and then today call me and tell me that the pulmo wants to see him Jan 3rd as well! They are also wanting to do a CAT scan. I don't know......I don't even know how I drove home yesterday I was so numb!
I should hear back on some of the preliminary results in a few days but others can take a couple weeks.
What do you guys think........should I be as worried as I am? I mean this is weighing really heavy on my mind and I'm never like this. I usually take things pretty well! But I'm really freaked out right now
Then to top it off....Briceton had a lot of white exudates on his esophagus so they did some scrapings yesterday. I should get the results back on that by Friday hopefully!
This damn disease never stops! It seems like as soon as something is "taken care of" something else pops up right behind it!
