Hey so i am still thinking what the hell to do with my life cuz I do not want to work at my job anylonger. I was thinking of becoming a Respitory Therpist but unsure of what i would have to do as far as school and how long it would take. I figured that way i could help out other cf'ers and keep up to date with all the new things. I always wanted to work with cf patients but never had the time to go to school. Which is my next problem i don't have the money, I know there is help out there but unsure how to apply or where to look, if sumone could point my in the right direction for that. And if anybody has any info on becoming this please share all you can. I am a single mom well we are together just can't get married due to insurance reason's which suck ass and really bother me, but thats a whole different subject. So just let me know what you think and any information on becoming one or the best school in chicago area. Thanks a million and i hope everyone is doin well. Have a great, safe, unsick summer all

Oh one more thing if anybody works from home and makes good money can u please let me know cuz that's what i really want to do, so please give me any info on that to. thanks again

Do you have CF? Or is your significant other a CFer?

If so, cross-contamination could be a huge issue.... I would advise against it.

I knew of another CFer RT, I don't remember details. I would suspect you'd be isolated from CFers. Being that they keep us apart in the hospital as patients, they'd probably keep you away and you'd be dealing with other diseases not susceptible to pseudomonas and such.

I graduated from respiratory school over 10 years ago and worked as a floor therapist for 7 years before swtiching to my current industry, homecare. I loved being a therapist. Yes...there are some considerations you must think about. First and foremost you won't be able to take care of any CF patient. It is a 2 way street, certainly you don't want to give someone one of your bugs but you also don't want to catch a nasty bug from someone else. There are many places you can work as a RT where CF exposure isn't an issue so you will be just fine and that is what you decide to do. RT's don't make bad money considering you can go to a votech school to do it. Good luck in your endeavors....
