What do you do for treatments and when did you start?

We did cpt and albuterol when DS was a few days old -- 4 times a day. Prior to culturing anything. When he was 4 weeks old, the doctor switched it to duoneb (albuterol/atrovent nebs).

He came home from the hospital at 6 weeks with a cough and a month later at a recheck at the CF clinic was culturing a bug common to NICUS, so he was put on tobi every other month. A month after that he cultured pseudomonas a. When he was 2 1/2 he was put on pulmozyme by the local doctors.

When I went back to work after family leave and his cough cleared up, we tapered down to 3 cpt treatments a day.

My son is 3 months old and on vitamins and enzymes (both started at 2 weeks old), xopenex, pulmozyme, and zantac (started at 1 month)and toady he is starting antibiotics because he continually cultures staph, casella (not sure how to spell) and cultured something else this time. We also have been doing chest pt since he was 2 weeks old.

Noah's tx was the basic albuterol w/wo atrovent, flovent, and now is xopenex, advair, zyrtec, enzymes, vit c, prevacid and some non-cf related meds. The tx started when he was about 1 mth old. Funny thing is he was being txed for asthma! Same regimen, including cpt. Xopenex is in inhaler form, no nebs unless he's coming down with something.

Emily also only cultures staph. She uses albuteral w/ her vest. She coughs while using the vest but only brings up a lot of junk when she's sick, so she is not on Pulmozyne. Other than that it's just vitamins and enzymes. Oh, and sinus rinses when she is sick too- which help a lot with congestion and coughing.
