That page was very informative. Thanks a bunch. I keep going back and forth in my mind trying to decide if my son should be tested...especially if the insurance won't cover it. I read that they should do two sweat tests. Both of my son's only had one done. My youngest, who I want checked actually had 2 but that was because they said there was not enough sweat the first time. Maybe the number was so low they didn't see the need for a second one.

I would say that you should push for testing. Even if it is just to definately rule it out. That's what the said they were going to do for me...

If you have insurance coverage and get them to cover genetic testing then you really don't have anything to loose. But you will gain the knowledge of yes or no; aand as a mom, I know how important it can be for your sanity.

my daughter had severe reflux from birth, vomiting nearly each time she ate, causing a hernia..at 4 months she had a feeding tube put in because of ftt and had the nissan fundolopication procedure done to stop the reflux. it has worked miracles!!! no more vomiting!! she has been on zantac and then changed to prevacid because zantac wasnt doing the job. i would definatley push for the cf testing..with everything you have described it is amazing your doctors havent recommended it before!!!
