What do you use to sanitize household items/toys?

oo Liza is right, bath toys are one of my pet peeves. I clean Olivias weekly. I use 80% vinegar and water and let them soak until the water is cold. The make sure it gets in the holes and I shack and wipe really well.


Mold builds up quick in bathroom toys - so always store them where air can get to them.

Wow...a lot of effort is going into sanitizing on this forum! When/how often do you sanitize toys? Surely they must be getting food or other substances on them to cause a bacterial issue? Wouldn't sticking stuffed animals in the dryer (if they won't melt!) help - especially since it would remove dust/allergens? We don't wear shoes in the house...a big factor in keeping the germ factor down. To sanitize toys, etc., may help, but considering you're not sanitizing the carpets/flooring/furniture/pillows that accumulate drool (ew!), etc., how do you ever feel that your efforts will suffice? I definitely understand the "squirting" bath toys - that's a playground for pseudomonas and molds without question!
