I started my 2.5 year old on Creon on Monday. I have been trying to empty the capsule in a couple teaspoons of applesauce. She is ok with applesauce but has never been a huge fan of it. I notcied last night and this morning that she is holding the applesauce in her mouth and I can hear her chewing some of the enzymes. I know this is bad -- is it because it can irritate the mouth????

I know I can't give them in dairy which sucks because she loves pudding. What else can I use???? Can you put it in a "shot" of juice or will it dissolve too fast?? She never really gets juice, so that is a treat...I assume if I find something she really like she will swallow it all and not hold it in her mouth and chew....

We preferred babyfood bananas. They were stickier, so they provided a nice coating to cover the enzymes, plus the beads didn't slide off the spoon. DS hated applesauce so if I didn't use bananas, I'd use babyfood peaches, pineapple orange or pears. In a pinch I also used chocolate syrup, jelly and ketchup.

Also, I only used a babyfood spoonful of fruit for the enzymes. I'd sprinkle the beads on the spoon, slide the spoon into the mouth quickly followed by they bottle. And everything just got washed down with the formula.

Yea the problem is that she doesn't like pureed fruits so baby food is out. Other things I thought of were chocolate syrup, marshmallow fluff, or jelly. I know those things are great for her but I figured 1/2 - 1 tsp won't hurt.

Oh, also used maple syrup. And I know some people have just opened up the beads and poured them into their child's mouth, followed by a drink.
