What helpful products for newborns or babies would you recommend?

So, over time, I discovered it was extremely helpful to have:
1) disposable syringes to save time on washing them for all the meds
2) a wedge for baby (and now little boy) for his severe acid reflux
3) disposable blue absorbant leak cloths like they use at the doctors for diaper changes so I wasn't washing the changing pad 5 times a day from all the CF stools
4) a baby scale so we could monitor weight when that was an issue

Anything you would recommend for parents of newborn or babies with CF?

Thanks!

Small medicine cups to open enzyme capsules into(I had to give half a cap for each feeding)

Little percussor cups for chest pt(more than one)

All the usual baby stuff; cloth diapers for spit up

I had a hospital grade breast pump I bought(helpful as my daughter had 2 serious situations as a newborn /infant when she was not allowed to eat) I pumped for 2 weeks the first time and a week the second.

It's been a long time, I forget the other stuff!

In addition to medicine cups, I used SMTWTFS (weekly) medicine boxes to put individual doses of enzyme beads to ease in pouring onto a spoonful of babyfood fruit for feedings. Especially helpful for those middle of the night feedings so you don't have to empty capsules. Or when traveling.

Ditto on the oral syringes. I'd measure out a days worth of meds and keep in a baggy in the fridge so again I wasn't measuring out each an every time. Also got different sizes and colored syringes because ds had 2-3 different pink meds.

Ask the pharmacist for a month (or 2-3) supply of unmixed antibiotic so you don't have to run to the pharmacy every week. Would mix up one bottle at a time. Shelf life of Keflex was only 10 days I believe, so was a pain to run back and forth to the pharmacy for premixed.

Premix a quart of formula and keep in a sealed glass container in the fridge so you're not having to mix up each and every bottle each time.

Butt paste -- brand I used was criticaid and was especially for adults with incontinence issues. CF stools, especially with enzymes would do a number on ds' butt. Formed a protective barrier that pretty much only came off with bathing.

Simply saline nasal drops. Ds had extra thick nasal mucus which made feedings difficult if he was stuffed up.

Get a boon spoon. It is a squeezable/squirt spoon. You can put any purée food in it. It was great for giving enzymes. Especially while traveling.
