What is a good book about CF?

My mom is a sweetheart and lately when she went to the library she found a book about CF. She wanted to read it and she read me a bit of it, however, I could tell that most of the information was not true nor backed up with evidence. For example: Saying men with CF won't ever have biological children.

We all know just from here that every man with CF that is willing to try is still likely to be able to have children. It is just that most will need assistance from a doctor through in vitro. I know my mom and my family want to learn a lot about CF but I just want to know that they are getting the right information about it. So does anyone have any suggestions on a good book to give a family member when they are wanting to learn more about CF?

I was also thinking about buying an extra copy to donate to the library so that anyone willing to learn more, will be getting proper information. Does this seem like a good idea?

Hey Alisha,

This may not be the type of book you are looking for but I loved "The Power Of Two" by Isa & Ana Stenzel... It is a book about their lives..

They have both had transplants & one of them are on their second tx !!!

They are very well know in the CF community .. I saw one of them at a family education day & she was amazing ..

Take care <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0"> joni

I too agree that The Power of Two is a GREAT book and it gives great info on CF and growing up with it and just living with it in general. Although, like the person said before me, it might not be what you are looking for and youll definitely have to order it from Barnes and Nobles or somewhere unless you live in the Palo Alto area.
