sorry to sound ignorant but i have never come across pseudomonas . i have 7 yr old son with cf , he was diagnosed 20 monthes ago, please give a uncomplicated answer!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0">
It's a bacteria we can get infecting in our lungs. It used to be bad news, but it's pretty common now and a lot of people deal with it with no real problem.
Pseudomonas is everywhere in the environment so the first thing I have to say is please don't beat yourself up by thinking you could have done something to prevent him from getting it. We're just good hosts for that stuff. I've had it since I was ten and as long as I stay on top of my PT it's pretty managable. There are some antibiotics, like TOBI and Cipro that are pretty good a treating it whe there is a flare up.
