What is good about CF?

Heres my list.......

1) cf has made me stronger than i ever wanted to be.

2) cf has also given me a different mindset than most other people in my life. I am willing to be reckless with material things in my life because they dont really matter much when you stare cf in the face each and every day. I walk on my white carpet with shoes on, i eat off of the new china, I use all new things i buy i dont just "keep them for company". I dont deny myself any small luxury i can afford.... ex- new expensive make-up, or a Victorias Secret bra ( they are pricey) .

3) i have a large appreciation for life whether it be human, animal or plant.... I cant even kill a bug, i will catch it and release it outside before i will ever kill it. I feed all the animals on my property ( racoons, stray cats, foxes, deer rabbits, etc.) and enjoy watching nature at its finest.

4) money is paper to me. Some people seem to worship it and have an agenda with having the most of it, but i never understood the idea of having a huge bank account if you arent ever going to do anything with it. Money is made to be spent and enjoyed in my eyes. You wont live forever and dieing with the biggest bank account seems stupid to me.

1) i tend to think of joy as being the difference between the highs and the lows. what i mean is, the lower the lows, the higher the highs of everyday life seem. since cf can be so dark at times, it makes the bright times that much brighter. you want to call this appreciating the little things, fine. but it's more than that, because even the larger things in life are so much more meaningful.

2) cf has definitely taught me how to take things as they come. one day you're running a marathon, the next you're hunched over a sink hacking crimson. are they connected? maybe. but the point is, you can't dwell on it for too long. you either crumble in the face of adversity, or you pick up what pieces you can find and move on. cf has, no doubt, versed me well in the latter.

3) this is going to sound kind of sordid, but i don't have a strong supportive family. i don't have many friends that can fill this gap either. cf has been there my whole life. it is the one thing i have always been able to count on. my own worst friend, my own closest enemy. if i can learn to accept and love such a thing about myself, i can do the same for anyone, anything. there is no room for hate - in cf, or in life - and that lesson has made all the difference.

Oh I like this one!! I was just feeling bummed out but now my spirits are lifting!!

1. I can eat just about whatever I want and not worry about getting fat

2. I am much more in tune with myself than most of my friends (thanks mainly to this site I might add!).

3. I have learned not to settle for someone as a friend or romantic relationship. It has made it easier to weed out the "bad" ones

I'm adding more cause I wanna haha!

4. Without CF I would not have found all the great people on this site! I have made some wonderful friends here and I couldn't imagine not having you all in my life!

5. Who knows how I would have really turned out without this disease...as sad as it may sound it has kept me in line...alot!
